RE: Hurrah! It rained!

Thank you, yes, it was a load of work!
We have loads more to think about and plan for, too. The big field is next!
We had a summer of nothing but crunchy grass the first year of moving here and we just managed to get through it ok. I've been planning and rearranging ever since. I think we're at the point where we're self-sufficient in our hay-needs now. The first year, we had to buy hay almost immediately and at the end of the first year, we bought around 90 small bales. We had about 20 bales left after the winter, so we had a small stock going into the second year. We have 10 bags of hay - the equivalent of 20-30 small bales left at the end of last year - and we're on our way to bringing in more than we had for the whole of last year, so I think we'll be ok going forward.
