This made me think of what could have been a Star Trek episode. Some interdimensional blob consciousness happens upon the ship in one of the loading docks and starts studying the crew without their permission.
As with my last few posts, I'm still exploring this setup I discovered a few days ago. This time around I isolated areas in the material as emissive so that some sections will emit light. To me it ends up looking like some alien form of neurons firing, or at least what I imaging neurons firing looks like.

In other news, school started today. For any that don't know I teach at an art school part time. Typically on the first day we do introductions and I show the students some of my work. I've now started to make this a sneak Steem promotion, but showing them my work on my @steempeak portfolio page.

This is one of those somewhat hidden features that I wonder if people know exists. You have to enable it in your settings for it to show up. I'm really hoping they develop it further. Would be great if
The tag to add things to the page was "portfolio" instead of photo and photography. Because anytime you post a photo, that doesn't mean you want it in your portfolio, also there's a photo tribe, so it's a super commonly used tag that doesn't really give you much control. Also if you use photo as the first tag, it can't be edited later, which is why I have some random photos on my portfolio.
Allow for changing the order of your portfolio pieces. This has most of the ingredients of being able to act as a portfolio that I could send clients to, except I need to be able to add and remove things at will and control the order, ie, putting the best stuff first, and as time goes by, there will be new best stuff, so yea, it still needs a bit more control.
Anyway, I sort of got sidetracked on that feature request session. What I was going to say was, since I teach in the Game Design department, my students are typically gamers. When I say(knowing they haven't probably) "Have any of you heard of Steem?" They all say yes, of course, because they're thinking about the insanely huge and popular gaming platform Steam. This is going to forever be a branding problem, because Steam isn't going anywhere, and I don't think changing our name is an option.
Anyway, I give them a short description and move on, I'm usually looking for someone to perk up or look intrigued. Then I'll know who to target later...muahahahahaha.
I'll be keeping my eye out for new converts. Lonely souls looking for a place to belong, JOIN US! lol, j/k sort of.
That's about it for today. I didn't get assigned the cube class this semester so no painted cubes for a while :( You can go back and see the old ones if you miss them I guess.
Catch you all on the next post!
😍👍👏Wow great visual. Really impressed. You can write a scenario on it.
Whats the software?
Is there a somekind of map on that? (for lights)
This reminded me the alien in The Abyss Movie

Thanks @bidesign! I used Cinema 4D and Octane as the renderer. I talk a bit about the process in this post

In short, the texture is driven by a particle simulation.
I did notice that there is a portfolio view option but didn't get around to playing with it, mostly because I don't have a lot of finished pieces. If it needs to have art or photo/photography/something related as the first tag to work it's never going to work for me XD
You can pin/feature posts in SteemPeak can't you?
Also did you actually feature request these things? I'd totally go and add a portfolio tag to what finished stuff I have if they would use that as the tag (that doesn't have to be a first tag...but however they need to roll as I don't even know what kind of coding is actually being used, I know how I would do it in Drupal but this isn't that XD).
Gloopy emission looks unbelievably cool!
Shhh, don't spill the beans. Steem is actually Half Life 3 :P
Haha, most of my students were in diapers when Half Life 2 came out.
