The clouds of smoke and ash darkened over the onlooked audience.

Der Kontrast des verdunkelten Himmels zu den sonnenerhellten Baumblüten war beeindruckend.
The contrast between the darkened sky and the sunlit tree blossoms was impressive.

Everything looks so different when shot in black and white. At some angles it the smoke almost looks like storm clouds.
Yeah, it was a crazy scenery!
