Is this a windup? - It certainly is!

in #busy6 years ago

This is part of the roof vent opening mechanism for the arboretum in Cambridge University Botanic Garden. The botanical garden is famous for many things but most notably because it houses a direct descendant of Sir Isaac Newton's (1643 - 1727) apple tree.

Yes that tree. with the gravity and all.

This industrial revolution era winding gear is my contribution for #MonochromeMonday hosted by @old-guy-photos. It's a fun photographic task and one that I try to do often with a little help from my friends. In this case my daughter Natalie supplied the raw photos and I edited them.

The days when things were build to last. Funny I just came from Paul's post and there everything was changing. I think I am in the vortex or it's bedtime and I am still steeming. Some great monochrome monday shots:)

Seems like both Paul and I and using our kids photos on these two posts. 😂
Birds of a feather and all that! 😂

Howdy again sir molometer! Great photos and very interesting subjects perfect for the tag!

Yeah I thought so too. My daughter has a very artistic eye for photographing interesting objects.

I agree sir molometer, she's gifted!
