Completed in January 2018 the Dubai Frame is a 150 metre high viewing platform that allows visitors to take an elevator to the top and walk along the gantry to see the views over Dubai.
It is a beautiful golden structure and is quite literally a picture frame for the cityscape. It hadn't opened when we visited but we got this exterior photograph from nearby Zabeel Park.
It is quite amazing that this structure was built for the sole purpose of viewing the city in the distance. If you were to take a helicopter flight you could get behind it and truly frame the city. Dubai has so many unusual and extraordinary buildings. They are a constant source of amazement to me. Have you got any photos of unusual viewing platforms?

Before I read the post I studied the photos. That structure reminds me of a giant picture frame. After reading that it was a tourist attraction and I could actually take an elevator to the top and look over the city, I had to rethink it's dimensions! Very amazing shot.
It's 150 metres high and a great platform for viewing the city. Dubai is now a major tourist destination.
Wow! It seems rather surreal to have a picture frame looming across the landscape.
They do spend a lot of money of seemingly pointless things. It's a matter of subjective interpretation. Surreal is the key word.
Elevator or stairs to the top? I bet it is beautiful from up there. What some folks won't do to get a picture! Riding in a speeding vehicle! How daring. Great photos. Thanks for giving me a taste of Dubai

It is rather amazing like a giant doorway to an invisible house. The view from the top must be amazing.
It's a giant picture frame but I see what you mean. From the angle of the photo it looks like a big empty door way :)
Nice photo, but the subject is a rather uninspiring piece of art... By that I mean that the canvas is blank...
I think that is the point. You can paint anything you like with your imagination?
