For me this is one of the greatest and most inspiring things about photography. It is so varied in it's scope. It is all about lighting and the quality of the light. Many people spend a lot of effort getting the light to fall on the subject evenly and avoiding shadows. Which is fine and correct.
And yet with shadow photography we have the reverse of that way of thinking and it really can help you look at things to photograph in a totally different way.
The Church of St Peter and St Paul at Chatteris, clock tower and spire was and still is a focal point of the town. The church and clock tower was built in the early 1900's and is still in regular use.
I liked the way the shadow fell across the clockface and it reminded me of a much earlier way of telling the time. The sundial. (A sundial told you the time by tracking the movement of the sun and casting a shadow onto a marked or numbered dial)
Motivational thought. Time is the most prescious thing that we will ever have. Use it wisely as time waits for no one.
