Hey Steemoverse! If you’ve been following us, you know we’re in the thick of putting together a high tunnel that we plan to grow delicious veggies in!

We finished setting the posts and yesterday started assembling the bows.

Posts are in the ground in cement!
The bows arch structural supports- kind of like the roof- of the high tunnel. The plastic will wrap over these. There are 9 bows and they’ll be fairly high in the air!

Ini with the finished bow!
This Saturday we’re having friends over who have set up a high tunnel before so it will be great to have their expertise when raising the bows!!

organized piles of high tunnel parts

4 Assembled Bows ready to be raised Saturday
5 more and then we’re golden!!

Assembling components
After we set up a form for setting up the bows, it went like clockwork!
It’s our goal to have the components put together before Saturday!

Ini smiling set up!

awesome to see! looks like you have a couple of them! what are you currently growing? <3
We make our season longer for commercial organic veggies with three tunnels and two historic glass houses (1880) and now in summer grow cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers (paprika) and some Suriname 'spinach-leaf-like climb plant.
Looks like the bows are a gothic arch vs round, right? Wondering why you chose one over the other?
Loving this series...!
The truth is that through the grant we received we needed to purchase a kit. It happens to be that the closest producer only manufactured the gothic style. Although the aesthetic of the gothic is more appealing to me.
The gothic style is appealing to me too. I've also heard they shed the snow better, a big concern here in New England. I'm glad you were able to land a kit that was appealing and practical.
As I've said, this series is SO interesting!
