Para|Dice

in #poetryyesterday

An original poem.

An ape on my back
It leads me off track
Ice down the spine
Melting off the whine
Living in between the crack
And I wonder, how will I find the time

You're using my words
To control all my worlds
A lump in my throat
But the ship stays afloat
We take our swords
Lightening and thunder, will it save us from being broke?

Are we stuck in para|dice?
Gambling our lives to lice
We left today for tomorrow
Yesterday we left on sorrow
Yet we continue the vice
Interest on all the we borrow

Under the pale green moon
Will finds the monsoon
Arrows fly where hearts once stood
Spirits are raised in all that is good
Badly we are tempted to give in too soon
What will you do when there is no food?

I've spent so long trusting in you
But the many are still few
How could you be so cold
Now the good are forced to be the bold
Look in my eyes that you drew
from its sheathing, truth be told

It's not for me to scale
I come from a wondering shell
Floating along the sea of desperation
Is anyone else doing this investigation
Fishes under the polished nail
Has time become procrastination?
