In addition to the bright modern city lights that I posted before, Huzhou also has a much older section of the city, hosting many restaurants, shops and apothecaries.

The stonework for the streets and the buildings themselves ahve been revonated and restored in many places, but the aesthetic has been preserved quite well.
The juxtaposition of old stonework and LED lighting is quite interesting.

An electric, not gasoline powered scooter waits parked in the alley. Another example of how recent technology meshes and soon becomes a part of the fabric of soceity.

Many more electric scooters in a parking lot in front of a take-away restaurant.

This photo, while not the best artistically, shows two electric scooters, the blue bike in the foreground is more typical of what would be expected of an electric scooter or moped. The battery has been taken out for recharging, and it has seen a good amount of wear and tear, testifying to the utility of these vehicles.

In the background a scooter indistinguishible from the 50cc gasoline powered scooters that are still extremely popular in Japan (where I live, so that is why there are so many comparissons). I would expect the electric scooters to be very popular in Japan but I've not seen any. There are however many electrically assisted bicycles, perhaps it's just a style thing.

Really has the charm of an old town
It really does! It was in easy walking distance from the ultra-modern towers from the previous post.
Nice light and color. The town looks antique, I like it.😀
Thanks @noopu! Some of the apothecaries were indeed quite old, and operated from houses that once belonged to rich traders or local mayors and do on.
Good picture
I like it
Very amazing

OMG! Your outstanding photography makes me want to go to Japan so badly!! It's been my dream since I was a little kid. I'm very tired of my country (United States) at the moment and I love the culture of Japan. Ahh, well I'm so jealous now hahaha. Thanks for the share, mate!
Thanks, but this was in China. Japan is cool too. :)
nice place and excellent photography .
