The application's step-counting process is pretty dumb.
It would be wrong to describe this as having measurement logic.
For example, try shaking your phone with your hand. The number of steps will go up more than the actual walking.
Is this also the reason for the van..? I want you to ask yourself.
What I can foresee is that sometimes when I drive, I can expect that I've never handshaked. But that is only a very few cases.
