It was @conscioucat's birthday so we decided to go out for lunch in town. We parked the car at Bulimba and caught the ferry into the city, something we have not done before. The Ferry terminal is heritage listed and has a good feel to the 1922 built, timber and terracotta tiled place.
The ferry system is quite good on the Brisbane river. The CityCats are fast and it cost $5.60AUd each for the return trip. There is also a slower Kittycat ferry just in the middle of town which I think is free. If we had waited a few weeks we would have got the trip of 50 cents, The state government is trailing a much bigger subsidized system. Funny with a election coming up!
The Story bridge, Brisbane much smaller version of Sydney's Harbour Bridge.
There has been a lot of new development under the bridge we will have to check it out one day.
You can also do a bridge climb there where people up there when we went underneath.
The KittyCat ferry and the new foot bridge.
There are always people climbing the Kangaroo Point cliffs
The maritime museum
The QUT Gardens Point ferry terminal and mangrove walk.
The
The old Parliament building now within the university grounds.
Sunday market in the Botanic gardens.
The Queens street Mall in the middle of town.
The new Kangaroo Point foot bridge again, must be very close to getting finished.
A tree that completely over whelmed an old fence in the Botanic gardens.
The ferry to take us back to our car and the Brisbane eye wheel at South Bank in the background.
The sunset after a nice day out.
