This is a special edition of the weekly #introduceyourself post as it coincides with the first week of the return to the #minnowuprising initiative. The initiative created by @taskmaster4450 to motivate all small accounts to overwhelm the ecosystem by posting up to four times a day and focusing upvotes and support to the smaller vests to impact the distribution of the rewards pool towards themselves in an accelerated fashion. This is a great start due to the fact that (1) STEEM prices remain low, (2) less activity overall has meant a bigger portion of rewards to those who do engage, and (3) SBD continues to be halted from issuance thus resulting in more STEEM as rewards that can be used to power up and get closer to minnow status!

I wanted to give some background here as these new users being onboarded are the future minnows that will help with the improved distribution of rewards in the future. Unfortunately, it has been harder and harder for me to curate the #introduceyourself tags as sign ups have continued to decline and the activity of these users continues to drop. I hope that the Hard Fork 20 will bring on new users at a quicker pace in order to offset these declines recently seen. I have seen some communities continue to impact new user onboarding and engagement with support such as @steemjet which has definitely proven to improve the retention and engagement of this community by continued support and education to new and small users. Retention levels are seen to be at significantly improved levels versus users that do not post within that community. This type of support is great and needs to be supported around the ecosystem.

Here are the picks from the past week:

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@bengiles/introduction-unchartered-territory

@bengiles is a new user from the beautiful New Zealand which has been said to be the best place to live on Earth! He has gone down the crypto rabbit hole and is now giving Steem a try an intends to share his experiences in New Zealand as well as his knowledge on subjects he knows very well around healthy living.

@lissiebrav is another new user from Venezuela that has some great formatting techniques (which I need to start learning more of) for her post. She is an actress that looks to Steemit to share her learnings and learn from others. This is the meaning of community which is main reason we are all here.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@drdrew/from-options-trader-to-division-1-athlete-to-owning-my-own-business-to-developing-a-startup-and-trading-crypto-my-name-is-drew

@drdrew is an entrepreneur with broad experiences and a world traveler as he experiences different ventures in his life. He is interested in trading different types of assets, as well as fitness and nature. His post was quite popular this week and seems like a great candidate to get off to a good start towards engaging with the community.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@adam333/introducing-myself-to-the-steemit-community

@adam333 is a young college student that is looking to promote his streaming and video content from playing video games. I have seen how the gaming community has drawn attracted to more of the content created by certain creators. It would be great if #Steemit can become the launching pad to some of these as it could provide some great interest in others trying to do the same.

https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@kady/introduction-from-cuba-to-argentina-my-first-post

@kady is a new Steemian sharing his story of immigration from Cuba to Argentina with his family and the sacrifices and challenges that come with these changes. He notices how Steemit has a community of many looking for opportunities for families like his. He looks forward to sharing his knowledge in computer technology and learning more about becoming a minnow!

I have also adjusted the comment I leave in this posts to include some examples of ways new users can engage within the ecosystem other than blogging. I provided the example I am finding value in with @actifit and @steemmonsters. While both attend different capabilities, both allow engagements with the community while participating in activities that some already do. If these projects can continue to attract users and maintain them engage then the model can be proven to continue to develop DApps that could add to growth and adoption and therefore value.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.

Have there been any new users you have found that I can pay a visit to? How can we continue to support new users in order to manage their expectations coming to this new platform? I look forward to your thoughts and feedback in the comments below!

Lots of new community members from Latin America! Shows how much demand there is for decentralized options and censor-resistance.

Hi, @gamercrypto there is another reason for this phenomenon, and I'm sure you would guess.

Thanks, @newageinv for the work you did. It takes times to make a job like that. I congratulate you and keep doing it.
