The creaky old floorboards moaned under a heavy, unseen load Maya peered into her bedroom closet, the door creaking open into complete blackness Two big, pale hands popped out from the dark, holding onto the frame really tight.

A tall, twisted shadow stepped into the moonlight, showing a face without eyes But a huge, toothy grin cut through her gray face from ear to ear. She tried to scream, but her voice was totally frozen.

The creature slid quietly across teh room, heading straight for her bed Her face got a chilly, rotten breath as it leaned in close It echoed her own name in a flawless copy of her mom's voice.
