Hive Power Up Day
It's great to see this initiative being carried on by the legend and awesomesauce busy bees @traciyork and @brittandjosie where all Hive users are encouraged to power up as much HIVE as they can on the 1st of the month and all powerdowns are encouraged to be stopped.
For me, powering up is a no brainer whatever your HP holdings are and I pretty much power up everything as soon as I get it because the benefits you get from it are really worthwhile. Benefits like:
- Being able to spread more rewards around to other users (which in turn gives you more curation rewards and grow your account),
- More staking rewards that actually grow your account just by holding powered up HIVE and,
- Securing and supporting the long term value of the Hive network itself by taking liquid Hive off the market.
How To Enter
However, now that we have the #HivePUD initiative, there's even more potential benefits in that you can win some pretty great prizes just for powering up on the 1st and making a post about it! Here's how you can enter (information adapted from Traci's recent post) - you have to meet all 4 requirements:
1 - Reputation score - must be greater than 39.00 but below 70.00 (so 69.99 is good & Can participate but 38.99 is not)
2 - Hive Power - must be greater than 100HP but below 8000HP (prior to HivePUD).
3 - Time - must power Up HIVE on JULY 1st, 2020
4 - Post - must make a post about powering up on July 1st with the tag #HivePUD.
The winners will be decided by the ratio between your current HIVE Power and the amount you power up on July 1st, NOT the actual amount of HIVE powered up. For example:
Person A - had 1000 HIVE Power already and then powered up 100 HIVE on 1st July, then it's 10% increase
Person B - had 300 HIVE Power already and then powered up 60 HIVE on 1st July, then it's a 20% increase and person B would win.
Prizes
There are some amazing prizes to be won to entice you in thanks to the generosity of the awesome sponsors mentioned in Traci's post. Here are the confirmed prizes so far but awaiting confirmation on other prizes:
1st Place - 1000 Hive Power Delegation for 3 weeks
2nd Place - 100 Hive Power Delegation for 3 weeks
3rd Place - 20th Place - No confirmed prizes yet

HIVE Party Time!
Well, it's party time for me now (and a big sense of relief) that I have finished all my STEEM powerdowns and moved about 10k HP over to HIVE - I've been on a mad man mission to get to Orca status on Hive by powering up as much as I can each day but have powered up about 3-4k HP - feeling the force here folks!

I am not in any criteria, but I usually keep powering up...this month I had twice..total 500 HP....I am glad able to contribute in community growth...💪
Yeah I keep powering up too man! I'm also outside the criteria but I remember the times when I was able to and it felt awesome to do it - feel like you're part of something great!

Yes it feel good and more better when utilising for good cause... I mean putting it in curating the new content creator post...a little love may be a bigger world for many.

Wow, I found your post at the right time. I was just about to do some major Powerup (at least relative to my account 😄). Now I can enter the contest too.
Haha, I just made my post about another cheeky power up today for #HivePUD - found myself in a power up frenzy the last 10 days or so with about 4k HP going in! I can't qualify for the initiative as I literally fail on all the criteria haha!

I guess the rules are fair. Even if you're allowed to enter the contest you'd have to powerup crazy amounts to win due to the ratio thing. 😄

Great that you are joining in and doing the blog to get the word out there. And powering up on the 1st of the month is fun aswell say you did it already but i guesss there is more coming.

Certainly going to hold off powering up until the 1st now, was very eager once my remaining STEEM powerdowns finished and move to HIVE but there'll be some in on the 1st 😃
