I finally joined the Steem Monsters craze. I began playing the game just over a week ago. It costs $10 to begin by purchasing a 30 card starter set either with a credit card or crypto. I was lucky enough to win a free starter kit in a Steemit contest hosted by @rentmoney a couple months ago. But I never got around to playing until just recently.
You can’t win Steem by playing the game however you can win more cards. The cards can be traded for Steem either on the Steem Monsters website or a third party website called peak monsters. I’ve managed to get one free rewards card everyday I’ve played so far. I’ve made it up to Bronze I league which means that I’ll get 15 free cards when the current season ends tonight. My ranking amongst all players is 2345.
The best resource for beginners that I’ve found was put together by @simplymike who coincidentally has a similar username to me. The post includes a compilation of tutorials for beginners. It can be found here https://steemit.com/steemmonsters/@simplymike/you-can-play-steemmonsters-too-the-best-beginner-tutorials-compiled
I have enjoyed playing the game so far and earned some cards. But it’s still too early to me to decide whether or not I would recommend the game to other people. Like everything in the crypto world getting in early seems to be the key to great success and I’m not sure I’ve gotten in early enough in Steem Monsters.
In future posts, I’ll discuss the game and some of its issues as well as DApps in general.
Do you workouts before playing, or during queue times!!!!! Level yourself up at the same time.
The game still takes too much of my brain power to play it during workouts. But sometimes I do work crypto faucets in between sets.
I always workout so never have time to play :)
Seems like this is one of those things here that you're well equipped to explore and report upon Mike. With your coding, cryptocurrency and gaming experience, I look forward to your @steemmonsters critique.
Thanks for the encouragement. My exploration and reporting is mostly going to be on DAapps in general and where I think Steem stands in the space. I'm finding that steemmonsters specifically has been discussed to death on Steemit already.
