Assorted bugs, mostly unidentified

Here are some photos of the sort of critters you encounter when you are looking for something else entirely.

All these photos were taken last weekend.

A very hairy caterpillar:

A doodlebug just after an awkward landing, wings still out (maximum sharpness is a few mm too far towards the camera, sorry about that):

I didn't find the dragonfly I was looking for that day, though.
