MCGI CARE DAY 3 MASS INDOCTRINATION HELD ON JULY 19, 2023
Blessed Day to the MCGI Cares community and all Hivers! You’re welcome to my blog. My name is Olu Thomas, and I will share my contribution from Day 3 of Mass Indoctrination.
MY TAKE
Bro. Eli explains from the word that we are not to believe every spirit, but we should examine every spirit, and for us to examine any spirit, we need to have knowledge of the word of God; without the knowledge of God’s words, we would be victims or fall for every spirit. I learned that if it’s concerning doctrine, if it’s not the doctrine of Christ, we should not listen. We should compare what we hear with the word of God; is it coming from the word of God or is the preacher giving the words from himself? It is our obligation to check what is good and evil. If we don’t pay close attention in these last days, many will be led astray, but if you guide your heart with diligence, no man can corrupt it with any doctrine that is not of Christ.
Bro. Eli also taught us the right way to pray according to the scripture, or the word of God. Prayers are not supposed to be done anyhow; God used Bro. Eli to open our understanding to the right way we need to pray. I learned that prayers are God's commandments or His doctrine, but not all prayers God answers. From the word of God, we are made to understand that God did not hear the prayers of a sinner; prayer of sinners is an abomination before God, and such prayer is just in vain, but prayer of a righteousness person, God is committed to answering such prayers. He answers the prayers of the upright and those who work according to His doctrine but turn deaf to the prayers of the wicked. If you’re wicked, God will not answer your prayer because you are an abomination in His sight.
How is the right way of praying or the correct way that believers need to follow when praying? I learned from the Holy Scripture that the right way to pray is to avoid vain repetition. We repeating one prayer, thinking that’s what will make God answer us. His word says that is not the right way to pray. If we are praying, we should avoid repeating the same word because He made us understand that before we start to pray, He has answered us, He knows what our heart's cry is, and He is going to do exceedingly far beyond what we expect. He promised us that He would hear us before we prayed, so why repeat the same prayer? Another way for our prayers to be heard by God is to get rid of show up. For our prayers to be acceptable before God, they should not be for show up. I learned that we should not be like the hypocrites that stand or use all the possible techniques in the church for them to be seen by men; such a person has received his reward here on earth. The prayer that God answers is the one that you did in your closest or the one you did not with the intention to show up or to make people see you. If we want to pray, we can kneel down and pray. It is written in the word of God. Kneel down and pray is a sign of humility and it shows that you are telling God you're nothing before Him and give to Him. And we can also stand if we want to pray, but let it not be for showing up.
I also learned that if I pray, I should believe that I have received it or that my prayer has been answered and before I pray or we should pray let’s forgive each other, and we can also pray sitting down. If we want to eat food, we can sit down and make our prayer to God.
I also learned that as a man, if you want to pray or prophesy, your head should not be covered, but a woman needs to cover her hair because she honors her husband by covering her head, while a man honors God by leaving his head uncovered when praying.
Prayers mean requesting something from our Lord Jesus Christ, and they should be done in accordance with the scripture and with understanding; if not, they will not be answered.
