Bananas are also often used as an ingredient in foods such as banana compote and many typical Acehnese desserts.
The banana that I am showing is a mas banana. Pisang mas is a popular banana variety in Indonesia, while ironwood is the name of a less common and perhaps less well-known fruit. Mas bananas have a sweet taste and soft texture, and are often used for desserts or eaten raw. Ironwood may refer to a little-known fruit or a fruit that is typical of a particular area.
