What you’ve achieved is called maturity. Your words have really struck a chord with me; I, too, used to try to make everyone like me, just as I tried to do the same for them. It takes a lot of heartache and suffering to realise that the first person you must value and love is yourself. But when you manage it, it’s incredibly liberating, and that’s when you truly start living the way you want to, and you stop caring what others might think.
