An amazing discovery...

...as apparently a manager told us that it is a Harry Potter theme.

No, we have not seen the Harry Potter movie, but I know that it was very popular according to the reviews in the media.

This is a two-part post, as the first half consists of the Potter theme, and then in the second half, I will show you a use for another ingenious homemade car. We saw the Harry Potter car in a favourite sports bar, and I was so impressed that I almost immediately asked for permission to take shots of the scene. We were welcomed and after I had taken the shots we sat to have some coffee. They make great cafe latte coffees.

In the second part I will show you how some wooden planks can be used to build something extraordinary. It was on display in a parking bay next to the road in front of a local nursery, and I just had to take some shots of it. People can get up to all wonderful things here, in order to attract clients and word of mouth is a very effective sales promoter.
So come and see.

I love old cars, but I have never seen one driven by a skeleton :)

I don't know if that guy was panicking or if he was happy.

No, this one below shows that he has a happy face. I would also have a happy face if I was a skeleton that could drive an old car. Maybe one day :)

The car is a genuine old Packard.

Now for the second part below.

Ever seen a homemade VW (Volkswagen) van that consists of wooden planks?

Yeah! That's certainly a very lovely artwork and a great way to advertise the sales of succulents. Low maintenance and all, and that's why I called it a silent salesman.

A long time ago I showed you a car, that was covered with green artificial grass to advertise a company that sells the things, and in other areas the same company even had grass covered elephants and rhinos with their brand name on it. No, the elephants and the rhinos were not real, as they were artificial figures, but it also drew a lot of attention. Salespeople can certainly find new avenues to advertise their products, and I wonder what they would come up with next.

That's what I love about the world of photography, especially when one never knows what one can find as subjects on any given day. It is a very relaxing hobby, and at times it could also get very trying, as so many issues such as the weather, the lighting, and a host of other small things can make things difficult. But I love challenges and most times I will be able to overcome it. It all just takes constant practice.
Such is life.

Note: For those that stay in the Cape Town areas, DM me for their locations if you want to visit these places.

I hope you enjoyed the pictures and the story.

That's the first time I've seen a skeleton driving a Packard! lol

That is a great few shots you got there, very creative on their part! The VW planting box is also a very creative idea. Whoever built it must be a huge fun of those of VW's! I guess as an artist creating something new and different is always exciting. Covering a car with green grass is a first for me, but I guess if you sell art covered with grass it's a great way to catch attention!

Great shots as always! I hope you are having a nice non rainy day!

Also a first for me, and it really gives a great character to the place :)

Much creativity going on here, and you are right, as who would have thought to build a replica of a VW with wooden planks?
It was actually, a company that sells artificial grass lawns that covered the subjects with their product.

Thank you, and yeah, non rainy and only windy now, but we are not complaining.
