No my friend, they shut all of the power down. Thankfully the hospitals have generators and a few other essential services, but the rest are all shut down, including factories.
The shut down hours are also changed for each province in order to avoid the whole country shutting down at the same time.
It has been going on for a few years now and the power supplier just can't get it right.
The big shopping malls and other big entities also have generators, but the price of one of those generators is the price of our house hahaha.
But we get along with a rechargeable lamp and a flask for hot water lol.

Hi Hannes,
I have to rush as switch off is at 8pm. But will push to see how far I can get with the replies.
Bad management is all that I can say Hannes.
They have for years pushed maintenance on the background and for the past few years everything keeps breaking down.
In the meantime they have built two massive new power stations, but they don't work due to the wrong designs and corruption.
Not understandable is the correct word to use.

Tonight they did what they said, but it's actually a good thing, as it gives me the time to do my exercises.

Yeah, I picked up on your sarcastic humor and it's a great way of saying it, as it is natural for people to react to the saying lol.
True because the exercises help to get my frustrations out hahaha.
Maybe I must advise that nation to do exercises during lockdown, as it will stop a lot of drinking and trouble my friend.
We just heard from one of the new charities that we partner with, the "Rape and Crisis Center" that they have already received three rape cases this morning. Sad what alcohol and the loadshedding can cause.

That's one more thing I don't understand: they know there's no light and no alarm - they know there will be rapes and robberies - they don't care and switch off ☹️
