Here Are 5 Reasons Why Some Smart People Never Make it in Life
1. SMART PEOPLE OVERLOOK OTHER SKILLS
Part of the reason why some smart people never make it in life is that they do not value other skills which includes social skills. Smart people do not find anything not contributing to their intellect important. Example they do not have time for socializing, clubbing, networking, and sometimes they don't even see the need for being in a relationship. But man is a social animal and usually do not trive in isolation.
2. SMART PEOPLE FIND TEAMWORK FRUSTRATING
Smart people find teamwork frustrating because they have their own standards and methods which works for them already. They always feel they can do the work all by themself since working with people on a task you are better at involves teaching and helping them catch up to speed. They also have problem delegating because they think they can do the work better. But remember this quote... Two heads are better than one".
3. THEY ATTACH LOTS OF SELF-ESTEEM TO THEIR INTELLIGENCE
This makes them always want to stay in their comfort zone to avoid criticism and failure. This also holds them back from taking risk, and from accepting they do not know the solution to a problem especially when they know people think they are smart. The solution to this is to upgrade and start associating with people smarter than you so you get use to feeling dumb once in a while. Also remember, iron sharpeneth iron.
4. SMART PEOPLE GET BORED EASILY
Another reason why some smart people do not make it in life is because they get bored easily and the resultant effect of this is that they keep jumping from one project to another without following any up. Every smart person is curious and hungry for knowlegde, hence they find it difficult following through on something immediately they figure it out. Today they are learning about photograpy, tomorrow its web design, next it's graphic design, next it's crypto. But remember, a jack of all trade is a master of non.
5. THEY SEE IN-DEPTH THINKING AS SOLUTION TO EVERY PROBLEM
Smart people always tend to see every problem as a puzzle and thinking about it critically will solve the problem. But this is wrong because some problems require going out to talk to people, like experts or gurus in that area you are finding difficult. The challenge may be new to you but there are others who have passed through that level before. Always be open to suggestions and remember overthinking isn't healthy.
These are some of the challenges that comes with being very intelligent and smart and most times they are not aware they have these problems. That is why i have pointed them out to make you concious of them. Feel free to tell me if you can relate to any of these?
