Ok little kid, come here... have you ever wondered how you know that bottle says Coca Cola even though you can't read yet?.. no? you haven't wondered that? oh... ok, I'll tell you anyway.
Bien pequeño, ven aquí... ¿alguna vez te has preguntado cómo sabes que esa botella dice Coca Cola aunque todavía no sepas leer?... ¿no? ¿nunca te lo has preguntado? oh... bueno te lo diré de todos modos.
I'm a graphic designer, so yeah, I design graphics, not clear enough? well, I can make things look more attractive to catch people's attention. You like to paint walls with your crayons because the wall is plain and boring, well I do the same but people pay me to do so, isn't that great?
Soy una diseñadora gráfica, como suena, diseño gráficos, ¿aun no es claro? bueno, puedo hacer que las cosas se vean más atractivas para captar la atención de las personas, a ti te gusta pintar las paredes con tus crayones porque la pared es simple y aburrida, bueno yo hago lo mismo pero la gente me paga para hacerlo ¿no es genial?
Let's say you have some words that you want to make it look nice, it can be anything, just writing those words is boring, you want to catch attention so you play with the words, you draw your ideas.
Digamos que tienes palabras que quieres hacer que se vean lindas, puede ser cualquier cosa, solo escribir esas palabras es aburrido, quieres llamar la atención así que juegas con las palabras, dibujas tus ideas.
Then you make it bigger, and add colors and effects, you play with the letters to make look good.
Luego lo haces más grande, agregas colores y efectos, juegas con las letras para hacerlo verse bien.
When you're done you can make more things to create your own little world, that drawing you first made you can make it on the computer too... actually nowadays is better if you do it first on the computer but sometimes it needs to be done with your own hands with supplies at hand, besides you can work laying on the floor while cutting, pasting and coloring things, it's like playing.
Cuando terminas puedes hacer más cosas para crear tu propio pequeño mundo, ese dibujo que hiciste al inicio lo puedes hacer en la computadora también... de hecho actualmente es mejor si lo haces primero en la computadora pero a veces necesitas hacerlo con tus propias manos con materiales al alcance, además puedes trabajar acostado en el suelo mientras recortas, pegas y coloreas cosas, es como jugar.
Finally you can have your draw printed in mass to place it wherever you want... or wherever the persons that pay you want you to put it.
Finalmente puedes imprimir tu dibujo impreso en masa para colocarlo donde quieras... o donde las personas que te pagan quieran ponerlo.
And what does it mind if you can't read but know it says coca cola? well, because you can recognize the drawn letters, it could say anything else but if you see the curvy white C in a red background automatically you think of that brand. A graphic designer made that by playing with the letters.
¿Y qué importa si no puedes leer pero sabes que dice coca cola? bueno, porque puedes reconocer las letras dibujadas, puede decir cualquier otra cosa pero si vez la curveada letra C blanca en un fondo rojo automáticamente piensas en esa marca. Un diseñador gráfico hizo eso jugando con las letras.
