Tonight I purchased another pool pairing for SPORTS with SWAP.BTC. This will allow anyone with SWAP.BTC to trade into or out of SPORTS! You can probably imagine how this could benefit everyone in our tribe. Regardless if this gets funded or not I felt it was important enough to fund myself with the belief it benefits us in the long run.
I'm requesting a total of 18,000,000 be sent back for the BEE required to create this pool. This would be distributed from the token fund over the period of Jan 31, 2022 - Jul 30, 2022 with 100,000 being distributed back to @patrickulrich each day. I believe this is a steal for the tribe as the cost in terms of SPORTS would equate to over 18,000,000 SPORTS alone.
In a future governance proposal I will request adding the SWAP.BTC and SPORTS held in @sports-gov be added to this pool for liquidity. This will allow the tribe to generate a bit of extra value from what's currently being held in our governance account. That being said you can add liquidity to this pool today to start earning from any swap fees this pool generates.
Note: I've also gone ahead and paid to create a distribution contract for this pool to have liquidity rewards in the future. This will allow us to simply vote in the rewards that we'd like to offer for liquidity to this pool whenever we're ready with a number.

Thank you @tomlee! This is something I've wanted to be done for a long time so regardless of this getting funded or not I'm happy to know it's done. Now anyone in the world can start sharing about SPORTS and begin earning some bitcoin for it after they post enough to earn rewards. Additionally now anyone can work for the token fund and be paid in one of the fastest growing currencies in the world. It's a game changer for the project in my own personal opinion. I'm happy to see it completed.

Hooooooo! Did I miss anything? I was off for a rural evangelism for a week. Cool to see this went through successfully. WIth this, we can start eanring BTC by writing SPORTS content.
Nope you're right on time! I hope the trip was well.
It's not been successfully funded yet but I didn't use any SPORTS funds for it so we didn't go a governance voting route. I just used my own Hive to buy some BEE and then purchase it myself. The proposal is just requesting the token fund pay me back for a portion of the costs. If it doesn't get approved then the community scored a new diesel pool for nothing :P
That's exactly why I did it though. If we get liquidity in this BTC pool it'll open up so many things. Beyond just our authors, this should make it much easier to find people willing to work on our project as far as development too. Now someone can build something that makes SPORTS better then request funding from the token fund, like I've done here, convert those payments to BTC and then cover their costs. It opens us up to finding talent that doesn't have to care about the future of the platform to keep HODL our token in hopes that we build a community they like in the end. They can now go directly towards one of the most liquid currencies in the world. Also saying that you can write to earn BTC is a pretty sweet selling point too!
I just voted the proposal. This development would become a selling point for the SPORTS token. I'll do my best to rally support contents for it. At least the SPORTS - SWAP.HIVE market would breathe now.

I love seeing that moves are still being made here to get this thing off the ground. Sports is obviously one of the most universal topics in the world and can be shared by users in every country in existence. If the underlying infrastructure can continue to be built, I think people will begin using the platform again as the potential is still very high with this project. Just need to keep building.
