Malioboro Last Evening

Good morning Indonesian Hive Community friends

Last evening, I was able to take a walk along the famous Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta. It turns out that Malioboro street is right in front of the hotel gate. As soon as you leave the hotel gate, you can already see the night atmosphere of Malioboro Street. I kind of feel that there is a lot different here, compared to a few years ago, the last time I went to Jalan Malioboro. There are no cars or motorbikes that cross this road, because it is closed for these types of vehicles. There are only motorized rickshaws and wagons that are allowed to be around Malioboro street. I walked along the sidewalks and terraces of shops. Now on the side of the road there are many places to sit and enjoy the atmosphere, and more space for pedestrians, because there are no street vendors in front of the shop or on the side of the road. I just enjoyed the atmosphere, not interested in shopping, even though I saw many writings showing cheap prices for souvenirs in front of the shops that I passed while walking. It feels like there is a lingering atmosphere of memories missing from Jalan Malioboro. I dont know. But maybe times have changed.

That's a little story this morning. We hope that our friends in the Indonesian Hive community will stay healthy, enthusiastic, cheerful and always creative.

Selamat pagi rekan-rekan Komunitas Indonesian Hive

Tadi malam baru bisa jalan-jalan menelusuri Jalan Malioboro yang terkenal di Yogyakarta. Ternyata jalan Malioboro persis di depan pintu gerbang hotel. Begitu keluar dari pintu gerbang hotel sudah terlihat suasana malam jalan Malioboro. Saya agak merasakan ada banyak yang berbeda di sini, di banding beberapa tahun lalu terakhir kali saya ke jalan Malioboro. Tidak ada kendaraan mobil atau motor yang melintasi jalan ini, karena ditutup untuk jenis kendaraan tersebut. Hanya ada becak motor dan delman yang boleh berada di sekitar jalan Malioboro. Saya berjalan menelusuri trotoar dan teras toko-toko. Sekarang di pinggir jalan banyak tempat untuk duduk menikmati suasana, dan ruang untuk pejalan kaki yang lebih luas, karena tidak ada pedagang kaki lima di depan toko atau di pinggir jalan. Saya menikmati suasana saja, tidak berminat untuk berbelanja, walaupun saya lihat banyak tulisan yang menunjukkan harga-harga yang murah untuk barang cendera mata di depan toko-toko yang saya lewati sambil berjalan. Terasa ada sisa suasana kenangan yang hilang dari jalan Malioboro. Entah apa. Tapi mungkin jaman sudah berubah.
