I don't know how to say this without being condescending but it really annoys me when people comment on Hive and it appears that they don't understand how it works, especially the economics.
Hive's rewards don't come out of nothing. Existing stakeholders (you and me, and everyone else with stake in Hive) allow for inflation of their stake, printing HIVE and HBD, which allows for the rewards. That's why we vote on posts. We direct that inflation to those people and posts we believe add value.
Someone posting their videos or blogs or whatever can be seen as adding content value to Hive, but I strongly disagree that nesomi is adding anything here, especially considering they've taken to mass spamming people trying to discourage using the platform. If they're some charity with 6-digit number of people on their mailing list or whatever, why don't they get everyone an account here so they could earn their own money instead of getting $2 a post on their central account, which according to one comment of theirs was mostly being used to pay the post maker anyway?
You can be as condescending as you like, it's like water off a ducks back to me. I presume you mean me when you say "don't understand how it works"? I'm fully aware of how it works.
@steevc assures me you're a nice guy and that recommendation is good enough for me, however, if you want me to lay my cards on the table I'm happy to oblige.
nesomi is bang out of order spamming even a single account let alone multiple ones. As to "Adding Value" I'm not sure how one quantifies that given the utter crap I see both on Steemit and Hive. I saw a post yesterday on Hive something along the lines of "My night time walk" it was a collection of terrible pictures taken in the dark with next to no information. They could have been taken anywhere by anyone and yet, it was earning rewards! so "Adding Value" is pretty subjective in my book.
I have no interest in nesomi, I don't care (in a sense) about nesomi other than their spamming so in my opinion if they stop spamming, don't run vendettas or plagiarize they can sit and fester in their own little rock pool for all I care. What I do dislike is bullying and abuse of power and when you wrote: "my point of view is that I downvoted them for supporting Steem over Hive, including support of Steem stealing 23.6 million STEEM from myself and 64 other accounts." you let yourself and Hive down in my opinion. That's a pretty nasty and vindictive reason to start a downvoting campaign against an account that didn't take your money, had no part in taking your money and I would be very surprised to read evidence that they supported your money being taken.
Someone in your position who as a role model should know that individuals will follow their lead and actions should know better so in my view you have a responsibility to behave better than the rest of us. Now if you had said: "It was brought to my attention they were doing XYZ wrong and so I took the decision to start downvoting them until they changed their activity." (They started spamming after you downvoted them lets not forget.) then I would be behind you 100% not that my input or support matters a jot to you.
Here's the rub.
You probably did the right thing but for the wrong reasons
And that's why I think you behaved badly and why I wrote that post. I'm sorry if I've made you angry but facts speak for themselves. As I said, Steevc says your OK and that's good enough for me. Let's all learn from this and move on.
Vendettas can get nasty, but if someone can show they are willing to play nice then I am prepared to leave them alone. Hive cannot really afford to lose people who have something to contribute. I know nothing about nesomi. Maybe they do have some credibility, but the certain behaviours that the Hive community can object to. Just complaining about being downvoted is unlikely to get you much sympathy, especially if you just keep repeating it. Do some good for the platform and you may get support. It can be hard to recover from such a major downvote campaign that blasts you into negative rep.
EXACTLY
I take the view ANY Hive member is valuable. Some may well need to be educated some may well need hand-holding and some may well need showing the errors of their ways but bullying someone simply because they are on Steemit is outrageous behaviour if you ask me and not what I would expect from grown ups.
I'm still on Steem and will continue to keep a Steem account. I'll post on there too. Hive is not a dictatorship, is it? What kind of community is this? I thought the world was 'inclusive' now? Sheesh.
Surprise! https://steempeak.com/the100daysofsteem/@greece-lover/q9kk8g
And I do hope to be a role model and inspire others to use their Hive votes to reduce or remove rewards on Hive from those ignorant enough to still back Steem while leeching from Hive.
I don't understand the relevance of that link in relation to nesomi? That's a totally different account.
Also, before I say anything more, is that you? "Not only are you an ignorant, immoral scumbag......" https://steempeak.com/@pfunk/re-greece-lover-q9kip7
Of course that's me. Only an ignorant, immoral scumbag would suggest my stake be stolen, as it was, for criticizing the wannabe-dictator child who attacked Steem, and his accomplices.
Read his reply to find out he's the founder of this fake nesomi charity.
TBH it's very difficult to read and my lifes far too short to bang my head against a brick wall with you. You may think you're justified but you're not. You should rise above idiots, people say stupid things mostly to goad you in my experience. Show yourself to "Be the better man" I'd have more respect if you went after Justin Sun and any of those accounts that supposedly helped Steemit.inc steal from you than wasting your valuable time and resources on an account that annoys you personally.
Don't get angry, get even.
