Milky Way

in #photography7 years ago

My photography-buff neighbor has been teaching me some stuff with his camera, and I managed to get this shot of the Milky Way recently. You can also just make out some galactic dust clouds in the shot, but this is about the limits of the camera. As we were not too far outside of Albuquerque, the light pollution is still a factor. It took a lot of heavy effects to minimize the light pollution in this photo. The bottom of the photo is actually the center of the Milky Way, but at our latitude it puts it close at the horizon, where haze and light pollution are issues. This was the best shot, because you can actually see some of the colors of the galactic clouds.
