Most people don't know that sometimes, the reason we do what we do isn't just out of respect them or something like that, sometimes we do it as a form of appreciation, something that I've come to find out how powerful it is.
Earlier today, I had wanted to get some petrol for my generator but was feeling too exhausted to actually walk down to the filling station myself, so I had asked a friend, who was also my neighbour if he could help me go get it. I don't exactly remember the words I had used but I'm sure I must have said about a dozen "please" in that one sentence because I truly needed someone to help me go get the petrol as I knew I didn't have the strength to do it myself.
Luckily for me, he had agreed and had collected the money from me to go get it. About an hour after he had left, I began to get worried because it usually doesn't take that much time to get petrol as the filling station wasn't exactly that far away, but when he came back, he had told me that the one filling station where we usually got petrol from didn't have petrol, so he had to walk down some distance just to go to another filling station to actually get the petrol.
When I heard this, my heart melted immediately because I knew the location of this other filling station that he was talking about and it wasn't close by. I usually have to get on a bus just to get to that place, the same place he had decided to walk to, just to help get me petrol.
When I asked him why he had done it and not come back home with an empty gallon like most guys (probably even myself) would have done, he had told me that maybe if it had been anyone else, that he probably would have gone back home but because it was me, he had to make the sacrifice as a way of showing appreciation for the things I've done for him.
In my life, I really have experienced few moments where I found myself completely speechless and unable to utter a word just like I was today. All I could mutter from my mouth was "thank you" because I didn't know what else to say. And about thirty minutes after this whole thing happened, I still couldn't take the event off my mind, so I had taken some money and gone to give it to him as that was the only way I could think of truly saying "Thank you" to him.

I think finding that kind of person is not so easy but lucky you found one. I also think it's very hard to say anything except thank you. It's a feelings of gratitude and it's nearly impossible to express in words.
I was actually left speechless and couldn't find the right words to say.. That was why I felt I had to give him a gift.
