Here in the United States we've had another tragedy. More people dead due to gun violence.
Like clockwork many publicly say they're offering up thoughts and prayers.
What are they praying for?
For healing? For comfort? For help in being unafraid to send their children to school?
Thoughts and prayers are grand when you are not in a position to do anything else. Prayers for wisdom to talk to the men in our lives about toxic masculinity in the best way. Prayers to give us peace as we move toward a better world.
When you are a lawmaker, I am sick of your thoughts and prayers. This is not how things have to be. You can do something tangible you keep your constituents safe.
For those of us praying for peace, you are the ones who can bring it about. Do what you were chosen to do.
Preach. So sick of "thoughts and prayers" I could scream.
Right! I can accept that sometimes that's all you can do and that's okay. But it's not all anyone can do and those who can do more need to step the f*#$k up.
