It can be an earth (and budget) friendly way to terrace your yard, particularly if you are able to fill the wire mesh construction with reused/recycled stones. Wire mesh that is filled with stones is called gabion.
Ancient construction techniques are used in new ways. Imagine all the things you could do with this.
