🦉 Blyth's reed warbler (Acrocephalus dumetorum)

  • Acrocephalus Greek: acros upper, pointed, kephale head
  • dumetorum lat .: dumetum thicket, thickets, dumus thorny bush

This seemingly inconspicuous bird lives in various low bushes, and it does not matter where they are, in a mixed forest or on a river bank, or even in a house yard. We call these birds "garden reedster". There is also a very good outdated name - "40 songster".

This bird received this old name because it loves to listen to bird voices, and then inserts fragments of other birds' voices into its songs, separating them with a characteristic crackling sound.

On the one hand, it's very pleasant to stand next to the bushes in the forest where this bird lives and listen to its varied song. But on the other hand, it's very annoying if the bird lives in the bushes under the windows of a house, because this bird sings around the clock. Yes, including at night!
