Flexibility and adaptability is the hardest skill for people I think. Jamie and I are both air signs so we roll with that and thrive on it - bring it on. Even in our 'conventional' house (after living in trucks and buses and off grid, so we totally get what life is for you guys, more than most) we are ready for crises with back up systems for fuel and supplies and thank goodness, building connection with neighbours that ARENT based on drama. Actually it's quite a street with paramedics next door, a chippy (carpenter) with a Finnish wife and a French couple next door, environment advocate across the road, a bee keeper.. and they are just the ones we have met! Plus our union has already weathered twenty years of heat and storms :) ... I don't doubt you and Vincent are brimming with energy and vigour and that the first few years together will be wild... I have to remind myself (and reading this DOES remind me) of our first five odd years where we settled into our place together.
I bloody hope you come across a cheap and effective way to get that roof fixed! Damp and endless rain is enough to test anyone's spirits.
On another note, I just had a dream of you guys this morning
I'd run into you at a market... Vincent didn't recognise me but you immediately did and were very warm in your spirit. It was really lovely to see you both. You took me to your land, and it wasn't raining but very, very dry!
Lovely comment. I'm sure you two can relate. Very cool to hear about that dream. It sure can be dry here too. Keep an eye on our future posts and you will hear about it.
We will find a way to get the water to work for us though. Whether it's dry, wet or somewhere inbetween ;^)
🤗💝❤️🔥
Aaaw, so beautiful, dear @riverflows !!
As @vincentnijman said, it is very cool to know that we are hanging out in the ether together! I wonder if you dreamed whilst we were awake, hmm...
My dream life has been soooooooo active lately, and a lot of things repeating, around journeys, water (!!!), old friends, family, houses...
It does feel like work, often, and I cannot wait to at least buy some calce/ lime wash to paint the awful cement with - and to get started on a) a mezzanine (for storage) and b) some basket projects! Once I get some crafts on the go, it's all going to feel a lot easier... plus we maaaayyy be able to put the tent up again, soon! 🥳
Your community sounds solid and very positive! 🤗🥳🌞🌼💚🙌 Good choice/ navigation!
Thanks for your great and uplifting response here 🪷
You're welcome. A lime render would look really lovely!!! And the mezzanine. ..I've always wanted a messazine! Such a good use of space.
I'm sure you were awake whilst I was dreaming. I
❤️🔥
Yey! We hope to cover the outside too, with stones and then ....something else 🤗 more natural - it'd be great to make it more solid, less absorbent!
Cannot wait to have some whitewash on the inside 🥳🥳🥳🥳🙌🤍🤍🤍🤍
Hear hear!
I sure prerer a whitewash indoors over a wash out, outside, making it into the inside of our casetta.
👍
Oh that's a great idea, so you'll be creating a house around a house if that makes sense! Is there stones around the property you can use? Can't wait to see it take shape.
