RE: This Flaming Boy | Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds

with the elegant, demure voice of officiating Sunday Service. And now the congregation will play Carnage in E Minor.

Yes. The church of Nick. Everyone says it. Melbourne of course sees Nick as their own boy so you should see and hear the entire congregation there singing into my Arms.. absolute goose bumps.

Henry's Dream was an incredible album. I listened to it a lot in very early 20s. I can still recall all the lyrics.

'the moon in looked exhausted
Like something you could pity
Spent an age spotted above
The sizzling wires of the city'

And Tupelo and Mercy Seat are just incredible storm raising songs. Only person who could ever cover Mercy Seat legit was Johnny Cash.

Did you read Faith Hope and Carnage? He articulated a lot of things that made sense to my around joy and grief.

I really don't like to hero worship anyone but Nick Cave is one of those artists that are on earth for a reason.

Can't tell you how happy I am that you saw him. The only performer I could go back and see again and again and again, no debate.

I did and absolutely loved the book! I think it was there where he was talking about grief a fair bit (understandably). I think he also mentioned there what an honor it was to have the great Johnny Cash cover one of his songs (and to be fair, what a tremendous job he did).

He's a very special man, indeed.

I was initially hoping to see him in Romania in August, and frankly, after this stunning experience, there is a small part of me going "buy them tickets, buy them now". With very few people, it's as great as the first time. For me, it's only been like this with Roger Waters and a Romanian band I love. But I do believe it would be with Nick. I guess we shall see.

Do it!!! I watched a very old interview with him the other day, just after he left Birthday Party. Basically big hair and monosyllables. He's grown up some since then.

Weren't we all kids once..

It's also at a festival, and I'm holding out for day tickets. ;)
