RDR 2 & Chill

in Hive Gaming3 years ago

When I have some extra time and am not sweating my ass off in a competitive FPS game, then I head towards a game that offers a fairly immersive and detailed experience.

At the moment Red Dead Redemption 2 seems to be the perfect game for my own redemption. When three's no work, when the boys aren't online, and I have a bit of "free time" in my hands, then I just hop on and play some RDR 2. There's nothing more relaxing right now. Also, I don't have the stress of creating some "pro" and "upload-able" content haha. It's just me and my careless playstyle when it comes to these games.

It's also been quite a few years since I've last played a proper single player or story mode game. And RDR 2 just has so much to offer, it's actually quite overwhelming; the details, the graphics, advanced NPCs and dialogues, and this isn't even a new game, RDR 2 was released back in 2018.

I'm also a sucker for highly detailed graphics, which is something RDR 2 does really well. And do I even have to talk about the story? The game is old enough, so we all know about the story by now. And I really don't mind the spoilers, I play the game my way and according to my pace, I'm taking my time and exploring as much as I can, while also finishing a lot of the available side quests. The main storyline can wait for now, we still have a lot of important activities to engage in; hunting legendary animals, scouring the lands for some memorable side missions and characters, even just taking in the sights is a worthwhile activity in this game.

The last time I had a similar experience was on Witcher 3, even though the Witcher just wasn't as immersive and detailed. Yet, it still remains on the top of list when it comes to some of the best games we have, even compared to most of the recent games. I think I'll do another playthrough of the Witcher 3, it's the perfect time too I'd say. If you checked the recent gaming news, then you might've noticed that The Witcher 3 is getting a next gen upgrade. The best part is that the players who already have a copy of the previous gen will get a free upgrade to next gen version, and luckily, I have a free copy that I've claimed long ago on GOG.

I've spent about 26 hours so far behind RDR 2 in the last month or so, whenever I'm looking to relax a bit and do some gun-slinging, I just hop on and look for some action. I'm in no hurry to finish the game. Funny thing, for my new horse's name I went with Roach, just like Geralt's horse from the Witcher, I say it's the perfect fit, because that's the only name of a horse I'm familiar with haha.

It was the late afternoon when I sat for another RDR 2 session, after taking care of some office work I finally got the time to have lunch. But there wasn't any food at home, so I decided to order one of my favorite meals, the naga achari rice from Madchef, I can never get enough of this stuff. After about 40 minutes the food had finally arrived, and I decided to load up RDR 2 for some quest hunting. Luckily, Javier was there to save the day; he had scouted out a house that was "robbable", and right after I finished my meal, we were on our way to make a quick buck.

I still haven't really robbed anyone yet, even though I really want to, but I just haven't found an annoying prick who's worth robbing haha. Yes, I'm an outlaw in here, but even I live by a code, everyone does. I always leave the kind folk alone, ready to lend a hand even, but the scummy characters only get a single chance, before I one pump my shotgun to blow their heads off lol.

Other than all that, I really like staying around the camp, hanging around the folk at the camp is actually quite relaxing. Even the chores seem interesting, and of course they do, you get a good honor point for it, so why shouldn't you do your chores?

Eavesdropping on the camp folk is also a fun activity, I'm surprised that no one actually talks about it haha. And if you really wanna get things going, then you can just press on that little Antagonize button and see where the conversation goes when you decide to poke your nose into other people's businesses lol.

All in all, this game has too much to offer, and I sure as hell am not ready to just speed-run my way through the main mission and story, that would be a huge mistake. If you really want your money's worth, then you better focus on exploring and doing side missions, and when those are all taken care of, you can then advance through the main missions.

Don't rush it, trust me; just brush your horse, pet a dog, meet some strangers, do some bounty hunting and interact as much as possible. There's lots to do in this game, the options seem endless, and a part of me really doesn't want it to end.

Hopefully I'll be able to make another post about my future RDR 2 journeys. For now I'm not sharing any RDR 2 gameplay or anything of that sorts, because people already know about the gameplay and story. RDR 2 right now is my safe haven let's say, whenever I need to get away from my random life problems, I just hop on for some cowboy action. 🔫🤠

Sort:

Well, that was some brutal way of giving pain to this poor soul bro :3

Vai Vabsilam Vai :3

It's time for you to GIT GUD and then get that new PC. 💀

After GTA V, RDR2 looks like a perfect addition of Rockstar and a perfect story based single player game.
I've seen some posts and gameplays of RDR2 and I'm especially amazed seeing the beautiful scenes and physics they offers.
BTW, food box looks like a love box, lol.

Big YES, no doubts there, even though I didn't enjoy GTA 5 as much as I'm enjoying RDR 2.

Even after 30 hours or so I'm still amazed when I'm out exploring, I even sit for minutes and enjoy the view and all the details.

BTW, food box looks like a love box

It is a love box, in a way, it's the perfect love box for a foodie. 😂

True. 😅

A good plate of food and a trip to the old west, this cowboy game is the best. From the first installment to this one.

YES SIRRR, no doubts there, even though I haven't played the first the game. This is my first RDR experience, and I'm glad that I got it.

Hunting and fishing - heck, even gambling in town - is so relaxing in this game. Definitely agree with you, this is one of those 'relax and take it slow and easy' type games. There's so much to it!

The first two chapters I did a lot of knife filet challenges, it seems easy, but it surely isn't. 😂

There's just so much to do, I don't know why people would rush such a masterpiece of a game.
