Hello Everyone! Hope you all are doing amazing and welcome to another #Splinterlands post.

Today I wanted to do another card spotlight post, and this time I picked Hodlor. This is an Epic Neutral unit that can fit into many different team compositions, which already makes it pretty useful. Neutral cards are always interesting because they can be used alongside almost every element, and Hodlor is one of those cards that can quietly do a lot of work without getting much attention.

At max level 6, Hodlor gains three abilities that work really well together. While it may not look like the flashiest card in the game, I think it has some solid utility and can be very annoying for opponents.

Looking at the stats first, Hodlor comes with:

  • 3 Melee Damage

  • 2 Magic Damage

  • 4 Speed

  • 5 Health

  • 6 Mana Cost

Those stats are pretty decent for a secondary attacker. The speed especially helps him survive longer because faster units naturally dodge more attacks.

I personally like cards that can contribute damage while also bringing utility, and Hodlor definitely falls into that category.

Reach: Can use melee attacks from the second position.

This is probably the ability that makes Hodlor playable in many lineups.

Normally melee monsters need to stand in the first position to attack. Reach changes that by allowing Hodlor to attack from the second spot.

This is very important because your main tank can absorb damage while Hodlor safely deals damage from behind.

I often prefer putting strong Reach monsters behind durable tanks because it allows me to keep pressure on the enemy team from the very first round.

𝐀𝐛𝐒π₯𝐒𝐭𝐲 𝟐: πƒπ’π¬π©πžπ₯

Dispel: Removes magic buffs after a successful attack.

This ability can be surprisingly useful.

Many players rely on buffs to make their monsters stronger. When Hodlor lands an attack, those magical enhancements can disappear instantly.

Sometimes a single Dispel can completely change the battle.

It may not always be the most noticeable ability, but when it activates against an important target, the impact can be huge.

I think this is one of those abilities people underestimate untill it costs them a match.

Phase: Magic attacks have the same chance to miss as physical attacks.

Now this is where Hodlor becomes really interesting.

Normally magic attacks never miss. That's one of the reasons magic teams can be so strong.

But Phase changes that.

Because Hodlor has decent speed, he can sometimes dodge magic attacks completely. When this happens it feels amazing because many opponents expect guaranteed damage.

Against magic-heavy lineups, this ability can provide incredible value.

I've seen battles where a few lucky magic dodges completely changed the outcome.

What I like most about Hodlor is versatility.

He isn't just a damage dealer.

He attacks from the second position, removes buffs, and can even dodge magic attacks. That's a pretty nice package for a 6-mana card.

The combination of Reach and Phase is especially interesting because it allows Hodlor to stay relevant throughout the battle. Even after your tank falls, he can move forward and continue fighting.

Overall, I think Hodlor is a very solid Neutral card that deserves more attention.

The combination of Reach, Dispel, and Phase gives him utility against many different team compositions. He may not be the strongest damage dealer in #Splinterlands, but he brings enough value to earn a spot in plenty of lineups.

For me, the ability to pressure opponents from the second position while also disrupting buffs makes him a fun card to use.

Anyway thats it for today’s #splinterlands grind. More battles tomorrow and hopefully more crazy moments too. Please do give your reviews in the comments section below. I would really appreciate it :)

I'll be back with another one soon. So do follow me if you want to stay updated. Till then, Stay Happy and Stay Hydrated.
