I've been insanely busy doing renderings for an interesting project. We usually don't do renderings because we can hand draw most projects. This one however required 3D visuals. When you work for very wealthy people they expect more. So I spent 4 hours doing this rendering for bunk beds.

I used SketchUp which is a free tool you can use online. If you use the pay version you can unlock a lot of features and models and use their desktop client rather than cloud. I'm thinking about upgrading because I need to add details that take way too long to draw out by.
What's great about using these rendering programs like CAD, is you can make changes easily as well as pull any measurement instantly without having to pull out a ruler and scale measure.
I used to use a similar program called Canvas about 15 years ago when I worked in the office furniture industry. That software was amazing as we could take our renderings and animate walk throughs. That feature helped me win a $1.3 million dollar job and beat the Herman Miller dealer.
Once you get the hang of Sketchup you can build things pretty fast. This other bed for the same project took me about 3hrs.

I'm wondering if the upgraded version could even cut that time down with models?
I'm sure I am going to be doing more of these so I'll post about the interesting ones in the future.
You can give Sketch Up a try at their website, https://www.sketchup.com/
