Thank you @demotruk for this post and for recognizing our work.
We’ve noticed that these talks and meetups help foster a sense of community, demonstrate that Hive truly exists, and allow for adoption based on real numbers. This has also been a key difference compared to Web2.
Meetups create bonds, but these must be maintained consistently online. They can increase engagement, but they require constant support.
After holding several “Cervantes Meetups” in Caracas, Valencia, and Margarita, we decided to organize in-person gatherings to get to know the community; this was due to a lack of funds. We held a fundless meetup in a park to send greetings to Steem Fest, which was taking place that week.
At Hive, we shifted our focus toward adoption, which is why there were more talks and workshops for external participants. We’ve only held one meetup in 2022 and another in 2025, which, by the way, had an attendance of only 5 people out of 22 confirmed. From this, we can conclude that apathy extends even to in-person gatherings.
