Everyone, irrespective of how wealthy or poor they are, how old or young they are, their status, background, social inclination and ethnicity, has an equal time allocation. This is one out of the very few areas that life is fair to everyone. Just like it is said: "time is a gift of life to humanity." However, you are the one to exclusively determine how you utilize your own gift of time, and that will be your gift back to life.
When the day starts at dawn, it does not wait for anyone and at exactly 24 hours, another new day will dawn. What you did with your past and the result is your absolute responsibility. If you did not utilize the time effectively, then it is gone and by inference, it will never be gotten back again. The process of utilizing time adequately is what people refer to as "opportunity." As common as opportunity may seem, it does not always appear as opportunity but may often carry the facade of challenges.
It is when you look beyond the challenges that you will be able to see that opportunity exists in the challenges. When an opportunity comes, it will often be bound by time - having a particular timeframe for it to be executed. You have to note that if the opportunity is missed, it may not come back in the particularly same format it came initially. Opportunities are not meant to wait for you but you are the one that needs to prepare yourself to wait for opportunities as they come.
How you utilize time today is how your tomorrow will be. What you see today is largely an effect of what your actions of the past were. Similarly, your actions of today and how you utilize your today is what will go to determine how your tomorrow and of course, your future will turn out to be.
Delaying the actions that you are to take today will only deny you of the opportunity to take steps towards the right direction. More so, it may not make the action easier tomorrow than it is today. Nothing destroys opportunity like delaying of action because most times, delay has the same or nearly similar consequences as outright denials. Many opportunities of greatness have been wasted by procrastination.
The subtlety in procrastination is that the person directly affected by it may not realize on time until it becomes pretty late. Most times, procrastination is a manifestation of fears - fears of taking risks, fears of failure, fears of the unknown and whatnot. However, when you damn all these fears and take the required actions, you will realize that the fears were only a creation of your imagination.
If you know what you stand to lose by not taking prompt actions, you will not need any motivation to do what is right without recourse to the prevailing situation. A right action that is not taken is an opportunity that is lost.
