Greetings!
This life can be somehow atimes as not everyone that promises us something in life would be able to fulfil what they have promised us. Some might be full with the blood of disappointment in their blood, while we have some that are willing to do as they have promised, but the circumstances of life would not even allow them to do as they have promised.
In my life, I have experienced both sets of people, the one who was willing to help but due to circumstances of life was unable to fulfil the promises, equally, I have also had a life experience with someone that just promised without having anything to fulfil the promises.
So, if I were to say something about these two sets of people, then I would have a volume of books to write as regards promises in life.
However, there's this one that I would like to talk about and this one is about a woman who had promised me heaven on earth but due to the circumstances of life, she was unable to fulfil the major part of her promises to me.
My mum on a particular Thursday afternoon called me into her bedroom and spoke to me in a quiet voice asking me,
“ Sam, what do you think I can do for you?”
When I heard her asking me this question from me, I was so happy and at the same time shocked and this was because my mum was not that kind of a person that would call you aside to elicit answers from you, but on this particular day, she did what no one including me would have thought of her.
Although, I was at first caught unaware with her question, but even at that, I decided to answer and I told her that,
“Mum, I will gladly accept anything you wish to do for me.”
After I had responded to her question in this manner, she started to promise me heaven in earth and I would not forget her telling me that,
“Sam, as long as I'm alive, I will see you through to the point of success.”
I was happy to have heard her telling and promising me what a good mother would have promised her first son and her only son.
So, after I had left her side, I was still reminiscing on what she had told me and I won't lie to any one, I was already living in that which she had promised me and whenever I remember all what she had promised me, I used to be like I don't have problem and nothing to worry about.
My mum did everything within her as she started to fulfil some of her promises to me and I too was really enjoying the life of my head, as nothing was too big for me to ask her as I was very sure she would do as she had promised.
However, on a particular afternoon, while I was in the school, I saw her driver parking at our school parking lot. Seeing him was surprising as it was unusual of her driver alone to come and pick me up without her coming with him.
When the driver was fast approaching, I saw in his eyes a sad look and that's when I started suspecting within me that something had gone wrong and immediately he came to me, he took me to the principal's office and asked for the principal's permission to take me home.
The principal asked him why and he said there's nothing but he has been asked to bring me home, the principal asked if he could call my mum, but the driver told him not to bother.
So, I was released by the school principal and we both the left the principal's office and it when I left the principal's office that I started to ask the driver what had happened but this man refused to talk and on approaching our house, I saw a large crowd of people in front of our house and it when I got home that I realised that my mum who had promised me heaven on earth was dead, I couldn't withhold the running tears rolling down my cheek as it was like the world was over for me.
It was then that I began to ask myself about all her promises for me and till today, no one including myself has gotten an answer to the questions. Although I was able to make it in life, it's not as easy as promised by my mum who was ready to sacrifice everything for her only son. Her relatives really tried for me, but even at that, I had to strive to attain what would have been attained with ease.

Losing a mother is the most painful thing a human being can face; they are the ones who, without hesitation, will do anything for us.
