RE: If the person you most cared for died, would you be content with the way you have treated them?

in Ask the Hive6 years ago (edited)

When someone we love goes away, most of us spend time with ourselves. Time where we remember him or her, time where we review past times of our life we have lived with our loved one. It is then when we stop for hours or days and realize how lucky we have been and how much we feel the loss.

It is then when we realize life is all about love. Most of the time we just live our daily lives without stopping to realize how little things from our loved ones are much more valuable than anything else.

There's this song from a local group, they sing in Catalan, a language spoken in the northeast of Spain. The video starts with a sentence: "For every moment lived together, infinite thanks".

Then, in the middle of the song, they just start talking and there's a part I love where they say: " Living is not being alive, living is the act of filling life"

Here's the translated lyrics.

Close Your Eyes

It's raining between you and the others
I know well that you feel put in the same war
Everyone looks for a piece of earth
and our home is a piece of time
I know well what you feel

Eh! If the night frightens you, come here
I have a circus of songs all the way to the dawn
Eh! When it rains within, come home
Close your eyes if you don't see the road

The stars are lighthouses on the horizon
I've always seen them in your eyes
You hold inside, restless and living
the cry of the reefs
of a faraway land
past dreams.
When the night, the sirens of the voyage,
nude and full of songs
come to find you from the sea
don't doubt it and take flight
This is my wish: walk!
Walk far away
Walk with those who want to know it all
Walk until you break down
Walk

Eh! If the night frightens you, come here
I have a circus of songs all the way to the dawn
Eh! When it rains within, come home
Close your eyes if you don't see the road

May a song bring you home when you're far away
May, when they fall in love with you, they not try to have you, only be with you
May life not only be a pleasant bed, a sweet passage
May the things you await not be like you hoped when you see them
May you feel the joy of clear days
May they awaken you in the morning with no precipitation
May you love someone very much without needing him
And may you not let your wounds harden in your heart, that does not rest in the depths of your soul.
Remember, if it rains within you,
that walking heals all wounds
that living, living is not being alive,
living is the act of filling life
life, of what happens when you laugh.

Eh! If the night frightens you, come here
I have a circus of songs all the way to the dawn
Eh! When it rains within, come home
Close your eyes if you don't see the road

"For every moment lived together, infinite thanks".

Being grateful for what we have and who we have around us is something that is returning into the world again, after moving away for so long to be "individuals" who believe we are "self-made". In time, I think most of us feel how we have failed in some way.

Thanks for the song.

Having lived a chaotic childhood, and quite a bit of my young adulthood also (family related) it wasn't until I had my own children and chose a much different path that even allowed me to at times to live the lost childhood I experienced through them. Laughter, love, nurturing turned it around for me, this and not painful memories that overshadowed what few good times I had as a child...there was a lot of emotional baggage to dig through to see the message contained within those few lines written in that song. Thank you for sharing.
