Beer Tasting: Reset Snowblind and St.Austell Proper Black

in BEER โ€ข 2 years ago (edited)

Hello, beer tasters! ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿป

Where do we stand, beer tasters? Are you worried when the whole crypto is going down?

Nobody knows where it's going to stop, do they?
Hey, it's #beersaturday today, don't worry, it'll stop sooner or later.

And then, it will be time for action!
And today, too! I have two interesting bottles to empty.
Forget your coins and tokens for a moment, because it's going to go up again!

Reset Snowblind Session IPA

austel2.jpg

Brewed by Reset Brewery, Breลพice, Slovenia.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 3.6% ABV. It's ISA (India Session Ale), or Session IPA style, which means that is brewed by modern American hops and is lower in alcohol. In short.

And what Masters brewers say:

A light but still elegantly drinkable IPA of lower alcohol level that does not disappoint. Grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, and strawberry are the aromas and flavors that come from CRYO Sabroยฎ and CRYO Centennialยฎ hops and will take you on a short reset to warmer destinations. Accompanied by hard rock, the beer will be even better.

This one reads very nicely. And I'm listening to hard rock along with it, so ... ๐Ÿป

austel3.jpg

The beer is a cloudy golden color, there is a lot of head but it disappears quickly. I smell tropical fruits, citruses, still quite pronounced aromas.
The first sip goes down the throat very smoothly.
It's very fresh, light, with strong aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, orange, mixed with a hop bitterness that lingers for quite some time.

austel4.jpg

A very tasty and fresh beer, I am surprised by the multitude of flavors this beer offers. They really are master brewers to have managed to do this with such a low alcohol content.

The hop bitterness, which no IPA would be ashamed of, is also pronounced, so I'm sure that this beer will rule the roost in my fridge for quite some time as it is available.

๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿป

Is it time for a beer meme? Yes! :) ๐Ÿป

St.Austell Proper Black IPA

austel6.jpg

Brewed by St. Austell Brewery, Cornwall, England.
Bottle, 0.5 l, alcohol 6.0 ABV. It's a so-called Cascadian Dark Ale style with
characteristics of American IPA and strong roasted flavors.

What Master brewers say:

Is there such a thing as a black India Pale Ale?
Whichever way you look at it, this beer is designed to challenge the senses. Black as stout, close your eyes and taste and this beer is classic IPA. Powerful hops dominate the restrained chocolate and coffee notes from the carefully selected roasted malt.
Whatever you thought you knew about beer, weโ€™ve just changed that!

I have to admit that I have never tried anything like this before. Yes, of course, I'll follow the instructions, so close my eyes and taste :) ๐Ÿป

austel7.jpg

btw: good advice by UK Chief Medical officers from the picture above :)

The beer is black in color, with a brownish creamy head that slowly disappears.
I took a deep sigh, sniffed, nothing special except the malt, closed my eyes, and took the first sip. It goes down the throat quite smoothly, I feel the distinct bitterness of the IPA mixed with the bitterness of burnt wood.

It's really something different. It's only in the aftertaste that I notice the coffee and the bitter chocolate, and it takes a long time before it all disappears.

austel8.jpg

I was really surprised. The bitterness takes over without mercy and this taste just goes on and on! This brew cannot be drunk as quickly as the previous one. It's not bad at all, but extreme, like a medicine, considering that all medicines are distinctly bitter :)
If you like IPAs, you will definitely like this one. Of course, I'll drink the whole
bottle, but slowly :)

I'm not sure it will end up in my fridge, well maybe if a beer-loving friend comes to visit and I offer it to him as an exotic :) ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Well, that was it for today.

๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿป ๐Ÿ˜Ž ๐Ÿป

And what are we listening to today? Yes, hard rock, of course! Nothing from my yesterday's #newtunes post (not much hard rock lately), but

Led Zeppelin - Kashmir

Two completely opposite beers there! I couldn't imagine having one then the other in the same evening and end up not hating one.

Cryo hops are pretty neat and I would love to give the session ale a try.

beerologistapproved.png

You're right. Both IPAs but very different. I don't know these hops because I've never been into it (well, more and more now that I'm getting into the details of the beers), but this cryo looks like it's really good hops. !PIZZA

Cheers, I will take one BEER too,....

Cheers, I take two :) !BEER

I love a black IPA - you just don't see many of them around anymore - but the balance is just right for me

Uf, for me, is too sharp, but it's drinkable. For a very long time I had a bitter taste in my mouth, I drank a glass of water afterward but I still felt it. !BEER

St. Austell always has some pretty good brews, although I must confess that I have never had this one? Have you ever had proper Job? I'm guessing you have? But the real gem is BIG job. I had that once on pump and two pints was enough for me haha. I'll have to look out for this one because their bottle conditioning always packs flavour
