How are you? I'm a bit sick at the moment, but again not so much that I can't listen to music, you know, music heals, and write something about it.
Once again we have some new surprises who have yet to make their way onto the music industry stage and even more established musicians who are waking up and presenting their new creations. It's easier for them, of course.
And remember, if you don't like something, you can skip it, it's okay. People are different :) π
Pussy Riot - PUNISH
Pussy Riot, or 'foreign agents' as the Russian government calls them, have turned their attention to the global fight against sexism with this new audio-visual work, with the aim of punishing all the Weinsteins of the world. (Backed by the powerful Woke production machine behind them).
It will be interesting to watch their future creations, if the sound is, of course, digestible.
Boris - Beyond Good and Evil
Boris, a Japanese experimental music band, has come a long way since they started in 1992, touching all genres and sub-genres in their 27 albums.
This song is from their latest album 'W', a bit of a heavy shoegaze style.
Arlo Zaria - Leave
The young musician from Tolmin, Slovenia, has released her first EP and with the wind of melancholy, she has also taken to #newtunes. A new name for me, I love the minimalism, the guitar, and the nostalgic voice, a kind of deja-vu that reminds me of something but I don't know exactly what.
Sasami - The Greatest
Sasami Ashworth, American musician and singer, classically trained composer, also known as for playing keyboards and synthesizers in the band Cherry Glazerr, has a unique approach to heavy metal music that is slightly different from the standard screeching. For fans, it will be certainly interesting.
Damon Albarn β Royal Morning Blue
Damon, better known as the frontman of Blur and the vocalist and composer of the virtual band Gorillaz, presented his new song on the Jimmy Kimmel Live show with a string quartet.
As he says himself, with the song he wanted to transform all the darkness we feel these days into something better and positive.
Tears For Fears - Break The Man
After a 17-year hiatus, a new studio album 'The Tipping Point' by this British band is now available.
This single is a prelude to what we can expect. A freshness of 80s pop and melodies with a positive message in this harsh new reality.
Bruno Krajcar feat. Edin Karamazov - Istrian River
Bruno Krajcar, Croatian academic musician, composer, and singer-songwriter presents 'Istrian Instrumental Rhapsody', an album of instrumental songs with a taste of magical Istria. As himself says:
In the sea of globalized musical rehearsals, I wanted to give today's man an archaic and at the same time freshness of musical fusion of different genres with elements of the hexatonic scale that emerged from an Istrian untempered traditional song.
Since Istria is close to me both in my heart and geographically, I can't help but recommend it.
Simple Minds - Act Of Love
Scottish rock band Simple Minds have released the single 'Act Of Love', which celebrates the anniversary of their first performance on 17 January 1978 at the Satellite City in Glasgow.
It's one of the first songs written together by singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill. In short, 44 years ago. They've achieved a lot since then. Recommended.
