Introduction
- @khaleelkazi was on the Inleo AMA talking about the latest version of leodex just the other day, and he reported it was faster, cheaper and more reliable. Plus there were more wallets, more tokens and linked to more ecosystems.
- So I decided to go down to www.leodex.io and give the decentralized exchange a swap to see how it was.

Wallets and ecosystems
I was pleasantly surprised to find a major upgrade in the number of wallets which can link to www.leodex.io so remember the word impressed and the phrase lots of wallets showing as potential wallets to use
There are twelve wallets to choose from.
I hooked up my CNTRL wallet, formerly deffi-x and it worked fine.
I have previously hooked up my Keystore and it worked fine.
I hooked up my keychain and it was fine.
next I will hook up my Metamask
then my Trust wallet
then my Coinbase wallet

Next a Swap
Swap Cacao for Arb Leo
- So a basic swap on the dex of Cacao for Arbitrum Leo.
- This shows what www.leodex.io can do as it starts the swap on Leodex but connects to Cacaoswap and that's the beauty of a multi-ecosystem decentralized exchange we can swap for tokens which are not in our ecosystem, so lets see how it goes.
- This swap was small 100 caco for 1200 arb Leo, 16 USD in volume and 0.2 Cacao in cost, any cost in Arb Leo wasn't immediately clear
- The swap went off smoothly, fast and soon, about 2 minutes my wallet balances were updated, 100 less Cacao and 1200 more Arb Leo.
- I was impressed as this previously took 5 to 20 mintes and sometimes if Cacaoswap was down, it would work at all.
- So I give a point to Leodex for speed
- I can click a link and view the trade on the Cacao block explorer, a convenient feature if the swap doesn't execute immediately, you can watch it unfold.
- So I give an additional point to Leodex for transparency
- The swap was cheap, 0.2 Cacao with it being about 17 cents, thats 3.4 cents for the swap of 100 Cacao for 1200 Arb Leo, that's pretty cheap compared to a Uniswap swap using 0.02 ETH is 20 USD, and thats on a very good day.
- So give Leodex a point for price.
Swap Arb Leo for Arb Pepe
Pepe is a popular meme coin...
I tried swapping Arb Leo for Arb Pepe, same ecosystem, Arbitrum, but still going from Hive to Hive Engine to Arbitrum to get Pep, so a multi-chain trade..
And a cute animation showing Pep moving in orbit around Arb Leo as the swap Progresses

Arbitrum blockchain paused
WTF
Arbitrum blockchain paused...is that even a thing? I thought this was a Solana thing, but now I have ssen Cacaoswap pause a lot, and now arbitrum pause.. This seems to be a new thing with newer cryptos..going offline or pausing their blockchain.
Okay, so since the Hive link to all these other multi-chains is Arbitrum Leo, I can't trade anything more today, so I stopped my trial here and I will pick it up tomorrow.
I guess this showed two things:
-- The new interface is smooth and fast swapping hive to arbitrum to maya blockchain.
-- The new interface is vulnerable when Cacaoswap goes down mayachain or arbtrum goes down, arbitrum blockchain.
-- Plan B for when this arbitrum link goes down??

Looking at this development, I am so sure it will give a nice user experience when exploring on leodesk. So sure of that

They have a small team, compared to Coinbase, Ethereum or even Blocktrades here on Hive. But they are motivated and determined, and we see steady improvement in their products.

Yes that is a lot of wallets, and the experience was cut short, but it was good while it lasted.
