I know that stacking silver to most is all about weight. But if you know what to look for and have a local coin shop or visit flea markets or garage sales. You’d be shocked what you can find if you know what to look for.
There are vintage ingots and bars out there that carry huge value over the spot price of silver. In the mid seventies and all through the eighties there were hundreds of silver refiners making silver bars, ingots, and rounds.
Silver was very cheap back then so in order to maximize sales these refiners would turn their silver into something they could sell for over spot price.
Listing all of these very small refiners is impossible. But a good source for some of the finer ones is a website named allengelhard. I am putting a link to it just below this.
Some of these bars are beat up and toned or even tarnished beyond appealing. Yet they are worth big money over spot price.
Here are a few samples of vintage bars from mints/refiners that no longer exist from my collection thsr are super popular to collect.
These are all bars that command well over silver spot price. Be on the lookout. If it looks old and you can get it for a good price I suggest you buy it.

I love hitting garage sales on the weekends around here, sometimes you can find some really cool stuff and even some silver every now and again. I haven't been lucky enough to find any old bars like those, but I'm always on the lookout!

Vintage bars have been slow moving and not much turnover at my local coin show, the same vintage JM and Delta bars here in Vancouver. There's still significant bullion selling over buying by the public.
