Here are a few farms I visited in the upper peninsula of Michigan.
Pumpkins are out everywhere. October is just around the corner.
Pretty much every farm had loads of pumpkins for sale. A few also had pumpkin pie for sale as well. Sadly we didn't end up buying any.
Look at this strange one, some kind of mutant looking jackolantern could be made from this one.
The main crops farms grow around here is apples and cherries. Right now it is apple harvesting time as the cherry season ended last month.
Orchards of various apple, cherry and even peach trees line the highways in the countryside here. The apples taste way better right off the tree rather than from the store.
This farm had some cabbages and squash for sale. We got some ufo squash for an omelette from here.
The chickens next to the squash patch were hoping we would give them treats. If we hadn't bought eggs from the store earlier we could have bought some from this farm.
My wife was busy petting the farm dogs that were competing for tourist attention. These two seem to have a game of trying to fight eachother for more petting lol.

Is the corgi pic a Queen Elizabeth tribute 😁 if so 👍 Loved the graceful old lady. You may be a bit farther north than my home. Looks like maybe a little farther along on fall harvest. Funny how America has embraced ugly squash🤣 used to be everything but the bright orange, round pumpkins just got discarded or feed to the livestock.
Yeah when i opened the car door the corgi was right there to greet me. I instantly though of the queen's corgis lol. Then the cow dog came over to beat up the corgi for attention. Maybe the farms shipped all the good pumpkins out already and left the strange ones out for tourists.
I like this pumpkin the most, it tastes the best, especially when we make compote
I like anything made with pumpkins, pies, bread, muffins etc. I'll have to try them in compote sometime.

Its prolly part of the latest pumpking pandemic lol. I wonder if the strange ones taste the same as a normal pumpkin.
It might be prepping itself early for the Halloween pandemic...🤣
