Description from Strava:
It has been too long since my last run. parkrun was cancelled again on Saturday as the course is till waterlogged, but the weather was actually nice. I should have gone out then as Sunday was a wash-out and I could not face that.
Today was looking dry, but it did feel a bit cold and there were some frozen patches. Strava reckons it would feel like -6C, but as usual I was in my shorts and did not even have gloves. I was okay despite that as I soon warm up.
I did the usual loop that avoids the school crowds. I saw a few runners around there. I would like to be a little quicker, but this what my body can manage right now. I added a little extra to my usual route to stretch it out a bit. It was enough of a workout before breakfast.
My podcast listening was a mixture or drummers and trivia. It keeps me entertained. I do listen to some political stuff, but I need a break from that as it can be heavy.
I am hoping parkrun will be back on this week. I could travel to others, but I like the convenience of a local event.
Run free!

Oh dear, is that at least 3 weeks that your parkrun has been closed for... you must be getting withdrawal symptoms lol.
I think we had a few patche of ice around the estate this morning, I waited until lunchtime and most of it appears to have gone. An absolute joy running in the sunshine, it makes a welcome change from the relentless grey gloom.
Fingers crossed your parkrun is on this weekend! 🤞
Having a course that is mostly grass/mud around some lakes means it can get wet. It could get really churned up. The ice wasn't an issue this morning. I am quite happy with it around freezing.
This time of year and the spring is always a bit hard for some of those areas because they are basically just mud. We have a few parks we like to visit, but we have to wait for everything to dry up.
This route has hard paths most of the way so it's not too bad. I just had to dodge a couple of puddles. Our winters are not so bad, but I have noticed some local roads are in a bad way. It's common to see complaints about potholes on other social sites :)
Yes, we get a lot of pothole complaints over here too!
Keep going, you're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.

Nice icicles in the shot! Glad you got a strong burn on that 7.64km run.
Once the legs get moving, the cold doesn't stand a chance.
Felicidades por tu carrera amigo , eres un ejemplo de constancia y disciplina
The school crowds are super annoying every time, gladly now they are closed for carnival
Actually they may be off at the moment. I may try another route this week.
