Description from Strava:
I had to pick something up in Bedford today, so I thought I would do another new parkrun too. The one in Jubilee Park started nearly a year ago, but I had not been before. The last time I ran there was in the 1970s when that was my school cross country course. I had not been back since, so it was a trip down memory lane.
The parking is a short walk away so that allowed me to warm up a little. I was early, so I jogged around a bit. It is a nice park with lots of trees. I also chatted to some other people who were visiting from around the country and met someone who runs at my local event.
The course is about three laps of the park on tarmac paths. It goes up and down a little, but a friend had told me it was fairly quick. By the third lap I was ready to get it over and done, but I made it to the finish.
The weather was pretty good with some sunshine on parts of the course. It did rain a little later in the day.

A lady had her birthday, so there were some cakes at the end. I did better than I expected with my best time in a few years. I actually went over the 60% age rating and I am very happy with that. It was a surprise as I did not feel that quick. I feel like I should visit some other quick courses to see what I can do.
As I was in town I went to see my parents who have been travelling again. I was able to use their shower and get changed.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Run free!

Looks like it. I'll keep it up.
How fun is that! You got your park run 🏃♂️ and a cupcake 🧁 to celebrate her birthday and your successful Caturday run!!
It was a good start to the day even if I felt tired for a bit. It shows what I can do.
Wow, interesting career, and even more so considering he hasn't participated for almost 50 years since the 70s. That's great!
Yeah that guy! I've done plenty of running, but just not there :)
It was like a trip back in time.
I think that burning those calories is a great way to start the day ;)
How you wished her with Birthday?
We just clapped. I don't know her.
