Description from Strava: sportstalk proofofbrain
My parkrun yesterday had me feeling good, if a little tired. This morning I wanted to do an easy long run. It may rain later, but it was looking okay out there.

As with a lot of my runs it started by heading up to Fairfield. I was trying to stay in heart zone two, but I gave up on that for some of the run as it kept drifting up. I still kept the pace easy and it did not feel too hard. Even going up the hills was not too bad. I took the path over to the Greenway and on to Standalone Farm. I was surprised that it was quite busy. It looks like there is a Cubs and Scouts event where the kids are walking around there. Some had parents with them. They were going the opposite way so I had to make my way through the groups. The Greenway Half Marathon was last weekend, but I had not been planning to do it this time.

I followed the road through Letchworth and Norton where it was a bit quieter. This route goes up and down a fair bit, but my legs were fine. I did see some other runners out there.

I rejoined the Greenway in Radwell Meadows where I saw more Scouts. One group of boys were in inflatable dinosaur costumes. Instead of going on to Stotfold as I normally do I went back the way I came to Fairfield and completed the loop around that before the downhill stretch back to Arlesey.

It felt like a good run. This will add to my distance for the Move in May challenge, but two of my colleagues walked a whole marathon for a charity event last night, so well done to Bella and Tania. That will boost their distance a lot. I am not sure I have ever walked that far and I have never run a marathon, yet.

Run free!

Nice work on the morning run 😉

Greetings, @steevc. What great merit your routine has. Running for exercise and fun is the best way to ensure a long and healthy life. Completing nearly a half-marathon on a Sunday morning proves that age is just a number when there is a passion for sports.

Well I aim to stay healthy. Others may choose different ways to do it, but running works for me.

It really has been a long career; I truly admire you. At 51, I don’t think I could even run 5 km consistently.

Career means something else in English, but I assume you use translation software. I started running before I was 50 and have kept it up.

What I meant to say is that at 50 years old I don't run a fixed 5 km, imagine 16 km

You have participated in a Marathon?

As I said, not yet.

Oh! I thought you have participated in some and not going to take part in this one.

It is a half marathon. A very different challenge.

Have you described it in any of the previous posts. I don't know anything about it.

I will have posted about half marathons I ran, but that will be a few years back. You are welcome to search, but you can find plenty of information on such events elsewhere. I have run the same half marathon several times, but I do not do many races apart from parkrun. I run mainly for exercise and fun.

👍 I'll try to search it out in your posts first. Depending on the available time and success in the search. - You know, a connection gives more satisfaction to read psychologically. At least to me, it feels I am starting to know the person a little more.

16 km plus are more than impressive to say the least then.
