Description from Strava:
Today was just a normal run with no worries about pace or heart rate. I just go with how I feel and try to enjoy it. Of course I am listening to podcasts as usual. I can always find something interesting and it keeps me up to date with various topics.

I was doing a route I have done hundreds of times, but it is still nice to run under the trees and see the flowers. Sometimes I see some wildlife, but not much today. There are also horses and sheep in the fields around there. I smile and wave to fellow runners and to anyone else I see.

It was a little muggy out there so I did get warm. According to Strava I was slightly quicker than the same route last week with a lower heart rate. I really think that the zone 2 easy runs have had an effect.

Unfortunately it looks like our garden pool has developed a leak. I think we have had it for 8 years. It gets rolled up for storage each year and is likely to deteriorate. We have patched a few leaks over the years and will have to see if this one can be repaired. We have been looking into possible replacements.

Enjoy your week and run free!

Love the wild flowers patch. The wife and I are becoming obsessed with attracting insects into our garden. I think we have the beginnings of a bee colony in our Pampas Grass, of all places, and we've seen a few orange-based butterflies along with one or two very common white ones.

Our local park has two dedicated patches of wild flowers. One year, some duffus mowed one of them, and incredibly, lots of people were up in arms about it. Next time I'm up there, I'll take a picture.

There seem to be a lot of poppies around this year and there were bees around those ones.

If you see my garden post you will see we have lots of flowers. We get plenty of bees, butterflies and hoverflies as well as other insects. We let some of it go a bit wild as we have the space. We've had visits from a hedgehog this week, but I have yet to snap it.

Around here you may see complaints if the verges are allowed to grow and also if they get cut. With all the housebuilding going on we need to keep some wild areas.

We've had a hedgehog a couple of times in the past, but the arshole who backs onto us blocked the gap in the fence.

Apparently they are good climbers, but I may make more holes under our fence.

Keep going, you're smashing your training at the moment and getting stronger every day.

You still got tons of poppies around there, here they are gone

They have been good this year. We see a few different types.

I think it is a highly healthy sports routine that shows your great perseverance to keep the body in active shape

When you keep one main target to achieve again and again, you do better with each try... That's why you completed the same run in less time and heart rate...

  • Consistency is the Key!

Well it's a matter of how I train, but I am not that scientific about it as I just run for fun. Doing these posts is part of my motivation.

These posts are the source of motivation for others as well...
