The NPR radio site is celebrating the 80th birthday of composer Philip Glass. How time flies. It doesn't seem like 10 years since I saw him perform in London with Patti Smith. There's a podcast where Laurie Anderson talks about him.
I've been a fan of his work for some years, but there's plenty I haven't heard. I think there's some energy in the repetition of his music that attracts me. I also like Bach and they have something in common to my ears.
This is one of my favourite pieces. I heard it performed on BBC Radio 3 when driving home one day and ordered the album as soon as I could. I have a thing for cello music anyway.
